Reminiscing about times when ‘a long road ahead’ meant something to do with a big mountain pass & not a global pandemic... 🦠 . . Like most people my races all now seem to be cancelled or postponed for the foreseeable future, even if it took a little longer than average to reach that state. Whilst it’s obviously disappointing, I’m very aware that I have things pretty good really & I am one of the very lucky ones in this crisis 🙏 . I had been cracking on with work towards IM Copenhagen 🇩🇰 & the last couple of weeks had actually been fairly solid. My routine of a daily run and a daily @gozwift session was keeping me busy with 295km 🏃‍♂️ bagged and a shed load of Zwift races keeping me engaged! 😝Whilst this might now be for “nothing” results-wise, I can honestly say I wouldn’t change a thing as I love that buzz of hard training sessions! . Following up a 3000 TSS fortnight, I completed a day of benchmarking yesterday 👨‍💻 The Virtual 5km Road Running Relays (15:51) were followed up by a @britishcycling race on Zwift which included a 20 min power PB (345W) ⚡️ . Given I’m pushing the envelope a bit volume wise, I am super grateful to the support from @torqfitness to keep my nutrition on point to maximise performance & recovery! FIND A ROUTINE THAT WORKS FOR YOU 💫. We don’t know what our future looks like, nothing feels normal right now, and we don’t know how long this will last. BUT, we need to try and focus on the good, and if we can’t find anything good to focus on, create the good. And then focus on it. Create a new routine, define a new ‘normal’. For me, I have made it a priority to cook everyday and workout everyday. It would have been impossible to even think I could make pancakes for breakfast on a Wednesday morning, and now here we are.
